Miss Thailand's amazing costume
When Miss Thailand revealed the national costume that she will be wearing at the upcoming Miss Universe beauty pageant in the Philippines to the world this week there were plenty of "oohs" and "aahs".
Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane will be competing in the 2016 Miss Universe pageant held in Manila, Philippines on Jan. 30.
Leaving the airport her native Thailand she amazed her fans with a truly impressive array of 17 suitcases filled with designer dresses and shoes weighing over a third of a tonne (read article & watch video at the Mirror in UK here).
Arriving in the Philippines she wowed Filipinos with a creative adaptation of their national costume the Barong Tagalog, usually worn by men, into the form of a woman's dress:

Perhaps it was all an accident or perhaps Miss Thailand is incredibly gifted in PR and image management.
STUNNING & NOSTALGIC NATIONAL DRESS
The stunning and exquisite golden-coloured gown is said to have embedded within its surface over 100,000 tiny crystals as decoration, Swarovski crystals to be exact.
The designer of the elegant dress is the well-known Hirankrit Pattaraboriboonkul, who also designed the famous tuk tuk dress which won the National Costume Award of Thailand last year.
The design of the dress is said to be inspired by the dresses once worn by Queen Sirikit when traveling to foreign countries representing Thailand.
