Sign language app for Line
A new Line app looks fun enough to get children with normal hearing to start signing with their hearing-impaired friends.

The story doesn't say if the stickers are animated or if there are videos in support, but if there is some additional help, I expect learning and using the signs would be a fun classroom activity.
Line app launches sign language stickers

The Line messaging application has launched stickers for people with a hearing impairment to break down communication barriers, says the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
The stickers, featuring cartoon characters making various hand movements in sign language, have been created by the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department in cooperation with the National Association of the Deaf in Thailand.
The sticker pack can be downloaded on the application for 50 baht.
The so-called "Sign and Finger" stickers came about under the project called "Creative Media: Awareness Through Thai Sign Language Line Stickers".
The creators said the sign language stickers present a popular channel of communication between hearing-impaired people and the general public. These stickers can be a tool for people to learn about sign language and use it to communicate with those who have a hearing impairment, they say.
The proceeds from the sale of the stickers, after deducting production costs, will go towards cochlear implant surgery for deaf children.
Social Development and Human Security Minister Adul Sangsingkeo said a total of 1,567,751 people have received identification cards for disabled people from the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department.
Of that number, 278,664 people (17%) are people with a hearing disability, which prevents them from getting information and social services easily. They mostly rely on interpreters to communicate.
