Internet giant Google on Friday replaced the logo on its Thailand search engine with a “Google Doodle” celebrating the birthday of a late Thai teacher who was determined to teach pupils the Thai language through her popular textbook series.
"Happy 85th Birthday Ratchanee Sripaiwan!," Google wrote on its Google.co.th website.
Ratchanee would have turned 85 years old on Friday.
The Maha Sarakham native died peacefully at Vichaiyudh Hospital in Bangkok on April 15, 2014. She was 82.

The late teacher is remembered for teaching learners how to speak, write and spell Thai correctly in her 12-volume textbook series, Mana Manee Piti Choojai, which taught students through the characters of four children and their friends.
The books were used in primary school levels Prathom 1-6 from 1978 to 1994.
The books were reprinted in 2002 to honour her work.
"Sripaiwan's exquisite mastery of the Thai language and passion for education guided students across the globe.
"Not only did readers learn basic Thai language, grammar and sentence structure, they lived and loved Sripaiwan's tales," Google said.
Google Doodles are special, temporary alterations of the logo on Google's various homepages that are intended to celebrate holidays, events, achievements and people.
Last year Google posted Doodles heralding Mother's and Father's Day as well as Songkran.
Loy Krathong got the treatment, along with His Majesty the King's birthday, in 2014; and the Duanwu Festival was celebrated in 2013.
