The Bangkok North Municipal Court has sentenced a former DJ, found guilty of deliberately ramming his pickup truck into another vehicle, to three months in jail without suspension.

The sentence was reduced from seven months after Pattarasak Thiemprasert, also known as DJ Keng, recanted his testimony, confessing to charges presented by the prosecution.
The 35-year-old had denied accusations he had driven carelessly and caused harm during a dispute with Kavinkan Srireucha on Mitmaitree Road in Bangkok's Din Daeng district on January 8. Despite Pattarasak's confession, the judge did not suspend the jail term of three months and 15 days as his actions were considered "severe".
The court on Monday also ordered authorities to revoke Pattarasak's driving licence and seize his black pickup truck. Pattarasak, released on 15,000 baht bail, is preparing to appeal against the ruling.
The road rage incident between Pattarasak and Mr Kavinkan came to the media's attention after security footage showed the former DJ, who claimed his pickup was rammed by the other driver, had lied and the real story was actually the other way around.

Pattarasak reversed his car twice into Mr Kavinkan's stationary Yaris after the former DJ refused to give way to Mr Kavinkan who wanted to overtake him, according to the investigation. When both cars stopped, Mr Kavinkan was seen getting out of his car and walking towards the pickup. The Yaris driver was said to have knocked on the pickup's window, but there was no footage of the scene.
Police officers charged Mr Kavinkan with overtaking in a prohibited area and fined him 1,000 baht. Pattarasak was dismissed by his employer, 89.5 Sweet FM, after clips of the incident went viral on social media, and drew heavy criticism.
