Kamnan Sia again fails to appear for verdict

Former Democrat MP for Kanchanaburi Pracha Pothipipit, alias Kamnan Sia, again failed to appear in the Criminal Court on Tuesday for the reading of a Supreme Court decision in a bid - rigging case against him.
THE CRIME
Mr Pracha, his wife Khemporn Tangjaiyen, Wanna Lorpaiboon and Thawil Sawat were charged with preventing the Wassadu Centre Company representatives from tendering a price to supply steel cable for the Wang Yao Reservoir Project in Phetchaburi between 1999-2001.
They were arrested by Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police in 2003, and arraigned in the Criminal Court on charges of extortion, illegal confinement (kidnapping) and bid-rigging.
In 2005, the Criminal Court found them guilty and sentenced Mr Pracha to five years in jail and his three accomplices to four years each.
ON APPEAL
The Appeals Court reversed the lower court's decision, acquitting all four.
The prosecution took the case to the Supreme Court.
The reading of the Supreme Court's judgement was previously set for Nov 18.
Mr Pracha failed to show up.
DOCTOR'S SICK NOTE
Only his wife showed up carrying a doctor's certificate stating her husband was sick (doctor's sick note).
The court rejected the excuse, issued a warrant for his arrest and rescheduled the reading of the verdict for Dec 22.
SUDDEN STOMACH ACHE
Neither Mr Pracha nor Mrs Khemporn appeared before the court on Tuesday.
Mrs Khemporn's lawyer submitted a request for the postponement of the reading, explaining she had an sudden stomach ache.
A doctor's letter presented to the court said she needed three days of treatment from Dec 21-23.
The court did not believe Mrs Khemporn's excuse and issued a warrant for her arrest, in addition to the warrant issued earlier for Mr Pracha's arrest, which is still in effect.
The court rescheduled the reading of the Supreme Court's verdict for Jan 25.
