In a photo that quickly went viral among Thai netizens, the son Klanarong prostrates himself at the feet of his father, a humble garbage collector, and the garbage truck his father drives every day in his job (see his facebook page).
The son thanked his father for his hard work to support his education.
His father only completed Pathom 4 in his education but dreamed that his son would get a better education.
His father's dream has been fulfilled as his son is graduating from Chulalongkorn University in engineering this month.
When the son failed the entrance exam for becoming a soldier, the son learned that his father had secretly cried.
The son took the failure in stride and quickly readjusted his goals, aiming to win admission to the best university in Thailand.
This time the son succeeded and the son's graduation was a proud time for the family (and also a good example of how social mobility is possible in Thailand).
The son offered words of praise for his father with his photo:
