CCTV footage reveals the path taken by the glued to his mobile phone mystery man before he kicked a plastic bag into the water at Sathorn pier at the exact place a bomb would explode the next day.

Plot thickens: Mystery bomber planted bomb day before?

Only 26 minutes after the Erawan shrine bomb blast last Monday night, CCTV footage shows a man mysteriously kicking a bag into the water near the Sathorn pier.

This bag might well have contained the bomb that went off the next day next to Sathorn pier. Police initially claimed the bomb was thrown from the bridge at the time when the bomb went off.

The video of the bag being dropped into the water was posted to the CSI LA Facebook group, a social media community of armchair detectives which assembled rather spontaneously on facebook to critique the problematic 2014 Koh Tao murder investigations.

TALKS ON PHONE, THEN KICKS BAG OFF BRIDGE

In the CCTV footage, a man wearing a blue shirt and carrying a plastic bag with something heavy in it, walks onto the footbridge crossing the canal, next to the place where the bomb would explode the next day. He puts the bag down next to the edge of the bridge and as many people walk past, he talks on his phone. Then he stops talking on his phone, picks up the bag, moves to the center of the bridge, and then when there is no one is on bridge to see him, he kicks the bag into the water, after which there is a splash, and then he leaves. The next day at 1pm on Tuesday, there was an explosion in the water at the same place where the bag had been dropped in the water.

CCTV FOOTAGE TRACES PATH TO SATHORN PIER 

The mystery man also appears in more CCTV footage. He was captured walking along Sathorn Road toward the Sathorn pier 11 minutes before reaching the bridge while using his phone continually.

If you trace the path that he walks along back to its origins, it is the same Sathorn neighbourhood that motorcycle taxi drivers claim they gave the alleged Erawan bomber rides several times between last December and February (Read Khao Sod English article here).
