One of the first steps for a guy in flirting with a girl is to ask her for her phone number. What else? Well, a bible of successful flirting techniques is now offered in a mobile app.
Jeep Sao is the first of its kind created to boost the chances of making friends and helping men to successfully ask women for their phone number.
“We spent years conducting research on flirtation including interviews with thousands of people. This app is the flirting innovation that resulted from this research,” said Nawapat Suwasin, managing director of Badtayak, the app developer.
The free version of the app is generally a list of strategies, such as how to get a phone number in one minute. The app, says the developer, serves as a tool that encourages men and builds up their courage, while also understanding the nature of women with respect. The app also has a system to help users cope when they are “rejected” by a woman.
The highlight of the app is in the paid version ($0.99). Called Super Duper Jeep Sao, it offers additional functions including emergency rescue, and how to ask for numbers in 18 different situations, such as in a public van, or on the MRT or BTS.
“We recommend a position on the BTS station that you should stand in to be able to get the phone number of a lady, how to flirt on social media or Line applications, in bookstores, or even in a traffic jam,” said Nawapat, adding that the strategies have been formed from the interviews.
He pointed out an observation from the study that men often complain when women refuse to give them their phone number. So the app comes with a warning: women are the gender of your mother and not your toy. This is not an app for men to take advantage of women. If you get her phone number, you must enter the relationship with honour. Don’t forget to say thank you even if she does not give you her number. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the number, try again for the right one.
“The goal of our app is that users must honour others, so they will receive honour in return,” says Nawapat.
Jeep Sao has already had over 200,000 downloads, both free and paid versions. It is now only available on the iOS platform. Men aged 18-24 years is the group with the most users of the app, followed by those who are at 25-34 years old, while those 55 years old and up also download the app sometimes. It is targeted at single men, but it turns out that a lot of women also download the app in order to see what they could be dealing with in situations where they are flirted with.
