Topless hostesses report to police

5 report to police over topless gambling den

The blurred faces of the two as they appeared in photos published in the media.

Five people, including two topless hostesses at a gambling den, turned themselves in to police yesterday.

Marisa "Sun" Kachondecha, 27, and Arunee "Bee" Somfong, 30, allegedly admitted to Sai Mai police they were the two topless hostesses in photos recently circulated on the internet.

The photographs showed two female attendants wearing only panties and standing at a gaming table surrounded by male gamblers in an enclosed room.

Ms Marisa and Ms Arunee allegedly said they were hired to show up at a New Year party at the gambling den in Sai Mai district on Dec 31.

Gamblers who joined the party encouraged them to take off their clothes and they did, hoping to get tips, said Pol Maj Gen Saroj Promcharoen, deputy Metropolitan Police chief, who interrogated the women.

The police fined them 500 baht each for committing an obscene act before releasing them.

Three other people who appeared in the photographs also reported to police yesterday. They were Thanes Pradittaen, the building owner; Narong Amparum, a high-low dice gaming host; and Niwat Boontima, a gambler.

The police pressed gambling-related charges against the three men, who were released after questioning.
